Timex T2N649 Weekender

MIDDLEBURY, CT – Timex Group is pleased to announce that the Timex Weekender Slip Thru has been named “Best Watch” by Travel + Leisure’s prestigious Design Awards, featured in the March 2013 issue on newsstands now.

According to Travel + Leisure, a monthly travel and lifestyle magazine that reaches nearly a million monthly readers, “good design makes travel better.”  The annual Design Awards, now in their ninth year, highlights the significance of design in the traveler's world and its impact on the travel experience.

Winners of the Design Awards were selected by a distinguished jury of global design professionals, including award-winning fashion and accessories designer Rebecca Minkoff and author Amy Fine Collins, a special correspondent for Vanity Fair’s International Best-Dressed List.

This is the first year Travel + Leisure has included a category for watches in their Design Awards, and Timex’s style and watchmaking expertise is being honored alongside well-respected brands across lifestyle categories, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Tumi, Porsche, and Microsoft. Winners in twelve categories will be awarded at the Travel + Leisure Design Awards ceremony in Berlin on March 6, 2013.

“From our studio in Milan,” said Giorgio Galli, Timex Creative Director, “we constantly look at how our watchmaking heritage can intertwine with contemporary, stylish design.  To be recognized by such an esteemed panel of experts is a great honor.”

With smart design and a classic look for vacations and weekend getaways, the Timex Weekender Slip Thru is designed for men and women seeking an affordable and casual watch inspired by timeless American style. The interchangeable slip-thru straps are designed for travelers to re-accessorize their wardrobes season after season.
