MIDDLEBURY, CT (October 12, 2006) ---- Timex Group B.V. announced the acquisition of Vincent Bérard SA, an exclusive, luxury collection of unique mechanical timepieces designed by world famous watchmaker and artist Vincent Bérard.
Timex Group adds to its already impressive portfolio of international brands in the premium watch segment. As part of the acquisition, Vincent Bérard will have access to the Timex global distribution arm, further extending his reach in new global markets.
Mr. Bérard’s extraordinary talent for crafting original movements, such as the neverbefore-seen fine hand finish (five spindle-shaped bridges) and the quarter-repeat striking mechanism, is inspired by sculpture, painting and photography. Through his designs, Mr. Bérard has reinvented the art of movement-design and the luxury way of presenting time.
‘‘By joining the Timex Group family of brands, I will be able to leverage the company’s international reach and global marketing capabilities, which will make my creations available to even more consumers throughout the world,’’ said Vincent Bérard.
With his first premium collection, watch enthusiasts and collectors do not have to wait any longer to become members of the Vincent Bérard Watchworld. Worldwide distribution of Vincent Bérard SA will begin in 2007 in Asia at exclusive retail stores.
